Tip of the day: Re-connect Home PCs to Windows Home Server w/o reinstalling Connector

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom @ 3:22 pm

If you have had to rebuild your Windows Home Server, and you need to re-connect your home PCs to the Windows Home Server, you can do so without reinstalling the connector.  Here are the steps to re-connect your Home PCs to the WHS.

  1. On each Home PC, browse to c:\Program Files\Windows Home Server\Discovery.exe
  2. The wizard will then walk you through re-connecting your Home PCs to your Windows Home Server.

  2. Thank you so much!

Hunted ages for how to do this when I changed the name of my server and couldn’t then connect the console.

Perfect. Made me a happy chappy.

  3. Thank you SO MUCH for sharing this knowledge. I did-a re-install and lost connectivity. I didn’t even think to use the connection software like a dummy!
