Update to TalQ tool

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tom @ 10:42 pm

This a copy of a post I made on serverplayground.com

There is an update to the TalQ tool on Connect. https://connect.microsoft.com/WindowsHomeServer/Downloads/DownloadDetails.aspx?DownloadID=5731

From Connect:

“We recommend that all Beta 2 participants install the updated version of TalQ. An issue was found with the version of TalQ.exe that was included in the Beta 2 release of Windows Home Server. The path to save TalQ.zip was hard coded to point to the C: drive as the system drive. As a result, any user who uses a drive other than C: for their system drive will receive a path not found error when TalQ attempts to write TalQ.zip. The updated version of TalQ.exe will now use the %systemdrive% variable to determine the correct drive.”

To replace TalQ.exe please us the following instructions:

  1. Download the updated version of TalQ:
  2. On both the client and server, copy TalQ.exe to %systemdrive%\Program Files\Windows Home Server\TalQ.exe
